The creation of the empire
Cyrus the Great was king of the Persians and he successfully conquered the Medes. Once he conquered the Medes he united the people of Iran together for the first time. The Persians used the method of conquest and expand to increase their power and land ownership. Cyrus the Great continued to expand the Persian empire heading to the west in order to gain control of trade routes that crossed Iran.

Religion
According to Herodotus the Persian empire did not sacrifice like other empires. The Persians did not have any temples or altars and no images of the gods that they believed in and they considered the use of them a sign of foolishness. He would conquer new areas making the locals fear him however, adopted a policy of toleration toward the people he conquered. He would allow these people to speak their own languages, follow their daily ways of life as well as practice their own religion. On top of that Cyrus the Great declared the first Charter of Humans Rights. He etched the charter on clay to set his goals, policies and rules. One of the main contributing factors was the violence against the king. The Persians were faced with an increasing number of rebellions by its citizens. Some of the satraps showed ambitions to rule, and the Egyptians, helped by the Athenians, undertook a long rebellion. Their Egyptian lands were in rebellion for several years before being reintegrated into the empire. In 331 BC the Persian empire was conquered by the Greeks led by Alexander the Great. Alexander the Great conquered the Persian Empire from Egypt all the way to the borders of
