I have chosen George Washington as the topic of my project. Washington was a remarkable individual that had a great impact on the role of president and the country overall. He has changed the U.S. indefinitely for better and for worse.

Born on February 22 , 1732 and was raised on Ferry Farm near Fredericksburg. Washington already had two half-brothers.Mary Bell Washington (Washington's Mother) was a troubled person and passed down to her children. Washington has a very stressful childhood because his mother was too overprotective. In 1743 Washington's father died, After his father died, he went to live with his older half-brother Lawrence (who was 14 at the time). Washington had tutors and attended a school near Fredericksburg run by an Anglican Priest instead of going to Appleby school like his brothers. In 1752 His brother Lawrence died.

Known as the father of our country, Washington was a very important person. During his lifetime Washington accomplished many things. He leads the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War and defeated Great Britain. That meant he was the one to win our freedom from Great Britain and made us a country and not a territory. He was the one to head the Constitutional Convention in 1787. That means that he was the biggest influence of the Constitution that gives us our right and freedoms. In 1789 he becomes the first U.S. president under the Constitution. In 1793 he was re-elected as president. In 1796 he published his farewell address. In 1797 he returned to Mt. Vernon. In 1799 he died at the age of 67. George Washington had no middle name. He was actually born on February 11, 1731 but it changed when the colonies switched to the Gregorian calendar. The pictures of
