Ronald Reagan influenced the world with his dynamic presence and insightful views on world politics. His journey to help the American citizens began as a young man when he saved seventy-seven people as a lifeguard. He would later become President of the United States using groundbreaking political ideas to further save lives. He accomplished the seemingly impossible when he toppled the Soviet Union by outspending them in the Nuclear Arms Race. Ronald Reagan had a very successful life, and it all began when he was an energetic young man growing up in Illinois. Ronald Reagan initiated his impactful life as a surprisingly quiet gentleman. He was born on February 6, 1911, in the remote town of Tampioco, Illinois. As a child, Ronald enjoyed plunging himself into books and rarely talked to other children, except for his older brother Neil. Ronald became extremely close to his sibling during his adolescent years. The two brothers spent time fishing and watching people swim in the Rock River in Dixon. Later, Ronald became a lifeguard because he had been motivated to save lives, a dream of responsibility. During this career, he successfully rescued seventy-seven people from drowning in the Rock River. The Ronald Reagan remembered so vividly today was actually a shy …show more content…
One of his first accomplishments was becoming a star actor at the age of twenty-six. Ronald had fond memories of theater performances in high school, so he decided to become a professional actor. He would soon be known as a eminent entertainer across California. After a while, however, Reagan yearned for something else for a career. His choice was was life changing–the governor of California.
