There’s many reason on why the English moved to North America. Some of those motives could be religious persecution, fortune, and poverty. One of the main reason to move to North America was to find riches and gold. The English came to North America for one main reason to find riches. As they arrived there they found something even better, which is freedom. To have the right to speared religion, to find new land, and have freedom for the government they had in England. Virginia was the first colony that they landed in. There they decided to name it Virginia after England late virgin queen Virginia. In the country they decided to plant tobacco, where tobacco became the number one selling plant. They would sell it everywhere everybody wanted some. More people for England kept on coming and Indians started getting disturbed by that fact, so they attacked in 1644 which killed 500 colonists. Virginia was the last secure place to be. The Plymouth Colony was the first settlement to bring Puritan. They sailed on the Mayflower on their way to Massachusetts where they settled and called their home. …show more content…
