How Did Vikings Cause For Expansion

Very little is known about the association of Vikings, many reasons come about their cause for expansion, and many tall tales seem to exist in regards to their achievements. It was during the late eighth century the Vikings took to exploration among a vast geographical area, plundering anything or anyone they came in contact with. Originally they were a culture of people among what is known as modern Norway, Sweden, and Denmark; countries forming most of modern Scandinavia, hence giving them the name Scandinavians. For life spanning periods, their Scandinavian homeland had been a secluded region with none of any importance to other Europeans. The attacks(raids) by the Scandinavian people were so appalling to others and after centuries of isolation their victims were left curious as to what might have begun such a transition. The berserkers were furious warriors able to fall into an aggressive frenzy during battle finding them immune to the pain of wounds. It is said the berserkers Vikings warriors were “devotees of the war god Odin”. Odin the war god is one who people consider to be a battlefield ruler concerning himself with warriors who he deems worthy of his lavish blessings and not the average being. He is known for his fighting skills, which no other man possesses and only he can teach. His spoken words along with handsome appearance raised the spirits of all those around him on and off the battlefield. With this power from Odin, these individuals were mere “bandits and criminals who would emerge from the forests and men to fight for their women”. Many people feared them for all the wrong reasons, afraid of property being taken by force or killed as they were challenged to duals. As they stepped into battle they would break in “berserk’s rage, uttering terrible howls, and biting shields” to demonstrate
