How Does Industrialization Affect Women

During the Industrial Era, many hardships masked the positives that surrounded the lives of the men and women each day. Although this was an exciting time full of change, there were many things that made it less exciting as the cities became more polluted, air was polluted, working conditions were undesirable, and the middle class began to rise.

Industrialization was a time change. We are still going through it, but this is when it began to take off. Things such as increased growth of transportation such as railroads, new opportunities for women, and new inventions happened in this time. But with this growth there were many downsides to it. When the railroads were becoming bigger/faster/ & stronger, they didn't just appear overnight. Things such as little pay,long working hours, poor working conditions(dangerous), and undesirable weather were what created what railroads are today but are what cost many lives also. And yes women were starting to finally have a place in society, but the working conditions and the little pay was not exactly what you would call a “step up” from where they were working previously. Although this was the time for a women to finally become more than just a housemaid who does the cleaning,cooking, and taking care of the children,these women

In the time of the Industrialization, this was a big deal. Factories took off, and there were factories popping up everywhere you went, and everyone and their brothers were looking for jobs. As factories began to employ people, the air started to become polluted, and the water, and worst of all illnesses such as pneumonia and tuberculosis took place.
