How Does Scrooge Change In A Christmas Carol

In the story A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, the main character “Ebenezer Scrooge” He developed not only by growing physically, like seeing his character from boyhood to his present, but also mentally and emotionally. You can see Scrooge pick out his crucial flaws and turned them into principal strengths. He is changed by the three ghosts that haunt him; Past, Present, and Future.

First, Scrooge was visited by Past. He showed Scrooge himself as a boy and a young man. First, he sees himself alone at boarding school, and then he regrets not being kind to a young caroler. Next, he sees his breakup with his ex-girlfriend, this causes him to feel penitence for letting money take over his life. Lastly, he sees his old boss, Fezziwig, who is considerate of employees and he feels remorse for not being affectionate towards his employees. Scrooge sees all of his mistakes and accepts that he needs to revise and become kinder.

He sees that, although Scrooge doesn't treat him pleasurably, he still toasts to him at their family dinner. He also sees that Tiny Tim is on the verge of death, the spirit repeats Scrooge's words and he hears how arrogant he sounded. He also sees that his nephew and wife are at a Christmas party. His nephew stands up for him when everyone's talking inferiorly about Scrooge, despite how he treated him. He saw how ignorant he was and what compassion others have given him.

Scrooge is last visited by the ghost of Christmas past. Scrooge was perceived as dead. He then heard a conversation about how nobody wanted to attend his funeral and they only cared about where his money went. He saw a group swindle his house while he was still inside, deceased. Lastly, he sees that Tiny Tim had died because his family didn't have the money for treatment, and proper health care. He was shown all his fears for the future, and he gained wisdom from knowing how to mend his
