The Olympics in Ancient Greece
The Olympics in Ancient Greece at the time was a very popular event that only males could participate in. There wasn’t as many events back then for the athletes as there is now. As the years went by, more popular events were added to the games so more people would like to join and be a part of the games. Back then at the time the Olympics were only played in Greece and only a few people could be a part of them, but now the Olympics are played all around the world and anyone can take part in them. Women are also allowed to take part in the Olympics now instead of it just being an all men's event. Even though the Olympics are extremely popular now, back then they didn’t have as many people and events as they do now.
What were the Olympics and what the events in Ancient Greece? The Olympics are games that anyone from around the world can come and compete against each other for the crowns which were at the time what you won at the Olympics, or models is what the athletes win at the games now. In Ancient Greece the Olympics was only a one day event with only seven events in it (The Sport Events). These events at the time were running, jumping, discus throw, wrestling, boxing, and Pankration (The Sport Events).

The Olympics have changed a lot over the years. There has been a lot more sports added to the Olympics and more countries have came to take part in this big exciting event (Olympics). During the time Ancient Greece held the games women weren't allowed to take part in the games (Ancient Greece). The women were also not allowed to come and watch any of the events because the men played naked and the Gods thought it was wrong for women to see that and take part in that (Ancient Greece). Thankfully now women are allowed to take part in this special event. They make it even so they all do the same amount of events and get treated
