For people living on coastal states like Texas and Florida, it is not uncommon to deal with hurricanes, however, as of lately it has unquestionably become further problematic to deal with the repercussions of these natural catastrophes. People who live in the states such as Texas and Florida need to understand why climate change has had a tremendous impact on the ferocity that these hurricanes have hit their homes. Additionally, citizens of states like Florida and Texas also need to learn the emotional and economic impact that a storm can have on families. There is always opposition about climate change, however, it is time for people to realize that because of the climate change that our world is undergoing, these people will see more dangerous …show more content…
Because of statements like this, most people have been blind to the increasing power that these hurricane strike cities with. People believe that because this world has experience natural disasters every year, then these disasters will continue to occur. Although this idea is correct, resident of the states of Florida and California need to realize that the intensity at which the hurricanes strike will continue to increase due to climate change. Professor of atmospheric science at Pennsylvania State University Michael E. Mann stated that with every degree Celsius of warming, hurricanes will experience about eight meters per second increase in wind speed. The hurricanes that people believe to be normal in their vicinities are not ordinary, due to the climate change impacting the strength of these hurricanes. Furthermore, Wayne Drash states that on average one to three degrees Fahrenheit over the past century. This means that at the very least hurricanes speeds have increase eight meters per second. This exemplifies the reasons for Texas and Florida residents to better prepare both emotionally and financially for the future natural
