Jesus Reflection Essay After learning more about the details of Jesus’ life, he has become a role model to me. There are three main aspects of Jesus’ life, which stand out to me; they are Jesus’ teachings, Jesus’ death and resurrection, and the miracles of Jesus. These three aspects of Jesus’ life apply to different personal experiences in my life and the degree that I am studying to achieve at GCU. Jesus’ teachings apply to my major at GCU since I am studying to graduate with a degree for teaching elementary and special education. Jesus is the ideal role model for a teacher because he was excellent at spreading the word of God. Jesus had taught his followers how to live their life without sin while encouraging them to share the word of God with everyone around them. In his teachings he always provided his listeners with examples on how to live their life, and how to get through a difficult situation. The ideal disposition of a teacher is to be an influential person who makes an impact on those around them, which is what Jesus had achieved in his teachings.. One of my most favorite teachings from Jesus comes from Matthew 7:1-2, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” I feel that this passage from the bible is the most useful for setting an example with both children and adults. In todays’ culture and society everyone is a guilty of passing judgment upon someone, even if it is done unintentionally. This teaching of Jesus is a great message to pass on whether I am teaching in a classroom, or dealing with my peers. It is important to apply this message because although everyone is different but we all have the same feelings. The second aspect of Jesus’ life, which stands out to me, is Jesus’ death and resurrection. I feel that this part of Jesus’ life helps me to relate with todays’ culture and society. In my opinion, todays’ culture and society lacks forgiveness. If todays generation could become more connected to Jesus. They may learn to live a life according to the ways of Jesus. Before Jesus had died his friends were betraying him. Although he knew what was going on he did not want to punish them or treat them poorly, it seemed he felt sorry for them. He wanted them to realize their wrong doings.
In Luke 23:34 Jesus says, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” For Jesus to pray for forgiveness on his deathbed for the people he cared about is the most selfless act that anyone could ever commit. When it comes to my personal life, I have a hard time overcoming the betrayal of friends. In my life I
