The Salem Witch Trials were a series of prosecutions and persecutions of citizens accused of witchcraft. The Crucible , by Arthur Miller, illustrates the hardships of the recriminated individuals. Many of them had the dilemma of life and death. Those that were accused had to act upon their individual conscience.
