In the Legends of King Arthur, the character, Merlin, has the authority to work magic and the capability to adumbrate the impending events. Because of the astonishing talents he carries, Merlin works as an adviser to the noble King Arthur, by cautiously maneuvering him through the newly acquired monarchy. Merlin is notorious for being mad yet wise, and society was unable to accept him during this medieval timeframe. The belief was that magic was evil, and crafted by the devil along with alibis.Merlin struggled to prove that his magic was pure and good, and tried to show that he never intended to harm any living person at any point. Even with a heart of gold, magic artists were not welcome into villages, and were forced out of all urban areas.

A wall in Britain fell down every day, and Merlin had to rebuild it each time. Finally, he had enough, and villagers threatened to kill him, and use his blood to keep it from crumbling. The people of the town, brought Merlin to the feet of King Vortlgem, but when he found out he was fatherless, he had more sympathy. On instinct, Merlin blurted out many future prophecies for Britain, which came true, and was made a royal advisor to King Vortlgem.

In each legend, Merlin upholds plentiful of duties such as: being a sorcerer, a bard, an advisor, and even a tutor. He could tame the powers of evil, but chose to value his divine powers. When the villagers did not believe Merlin had power, he moved stones all the way from Ireland, and made a circle out of them. This structure was called the Giant's Ring, but more commonly known as Stonehenge, On completion, more and more people feared Merlin, and avoided him, They taunted him, but also kept their distance, calling him a sorcerer and witch.
