The book Unbroken is a true story about the events in Louie Zamperini's life. The central idea discussed in the book was when he was taken by the Japanese and put in a detention camp. Growing up, Louie struggled making friends but with the help of his brother he found doing something he loved, running. Louie attended the olympics in Germany.

A few years later Louie joined the airforce. Him and a few others were in a plane crash out on the ocean. Louie and two others survived. Stranded out at sea they were captured by the Japanese.
