The passion I had for reading, was much like Malcom X’s in “Learning to Read,” an excerpt from The Autobiography of Malcom X. Malcom X was one of the most influential and powerful leaders in the Nation of Islam in the 1960’s. He was a key figure in promoting self-pride in the separatism movement for African-Americans.
