Mistakes In Julius Caesar

It has been said that “Mistakes are the proof that you are trying”. Correlating with Julius Caesar, a play written by William Shakespeare in 1599, this quote symbolizes Brutus’s struggles with poor decisions and many mistakes. Blinded with concern for the well-being of Rome, Brutus joined Cassius's conspiracy under false pretenses. Because Brutus tried too hard to do everything for the good of rome, he constantly made mistakes. Unfortunately brutus made many mistakes but trusting Cassius, killing Caesar and not explaining to portia about the conspiracy, posed as the main mistakes that started the domino effect of mistakes.
Continuously throughout his life Brutus demonstrated his honorable, merciful, yet gullible nature which may have contributed to his many mistakes. Brutus displayed honor throughout the play as it posed as a top priority for him(1.2.88-89). Contributing to his downfall,

Indubitably Portia loved Brutus and she continually looked out for him. At one point in the play she approached him and voiced her worry for him. Knowing something bothered Brutus, she challenged him to tell her what was wrong(1.2.299-302). She would rather hurt herself then know that Brutus kept secrets from her. Anxiously Portia watched Brutus leave for the capitol and sends her servant to keep an eye on him(2.4.42-45). However, she could not shake that bad feeling she had. Later in the play,Brutus leaves town fearing for his life, leaving Portia behind. Portia, consumed by grief and anxiety, killed herself after her servant leaves her room(4.3.154-156). If brutus just told her everything in the beginning this would not have happened. She could also have counseled him on what he was about to do. Maybe after she would have talked to him he would have realized that Cassius used him. Unfortunately he never told her so she could not help him. Because of him Portia lost her life to
