Today is different. A good different. This town is one of the most quiet, serene towns in the whole world. But not today! It is a sunny, bright shiny day. The streets are filled with cheering, singing, dancing, laughing and even crying. What was going on? Leaping out of my cold rickety bed, I put on my cozy pink polka dot sweater, with a pair of skinny jeans, and some worn in sneakers, and bolted out the door. I guess The good vibrations keep coming, because my best friend Parker showed up. He has gorgeous dark brown hair, with ocean blue eyes and, just perfect teeth! Uh, not that it matters anyway. We're just friends… For now. Anyways, Parker came sprinting up to me and handed me a flyer.

“The audition for the biggest movie of the year, The Hero’s Journey.”

I was stunned, so this was the big talk of the morning. I just had to audition. But I couldn’t. I just couldn’t. I’m not pretty enough, smart enough, or brave enough. I can’t do this! I’m just a small town girl with no confidence whatsoever.

“What’s wrong Chloe?” Parker asked.

“Nothing!” I screamed, and ran away.

As I as was running home I thought if this was my calling, destiny, or possibly even my future. I did acting once in second grade. Well, who didn’t? I truly want to do this but I have no grit. “ Hi Chloe, why aren’t you trying out for the Hero’s Journey?” She questioned.

“Mom,” I cried, “I don’t have the confidence to try out, I feel that I wouldn’t be good enough!”

“Oh Chloe, what are you talking about? You are the most wonderful, talented, bravest daughter ever. You can do this!”

“Thanks Mom you're the best, I love you so much!” I yelped.

At that time I realized my full potential. I guess Mom was right. Isn’t she always? I guess that means Parker was right too! I have to go talk to him. I’m a new person now. An improved Chloe finally with some confidence…

“Next, is the ability to stay in character. Stay in character for two minutes, your character is a cowgirl.” The director sternly hollered.

“ Howdy everyone, I’m a cowgirl!”, I spoke in a spot on southern accent. He smiled again. “Your last challenge is the hardest. I’m going to give you a script and you're going to memorize it. Got it? good!”, the director said strictly. This time I saw him looked at me with the stink eye. He must not like me. He must think I’m terrible! Here goes my only shot at a career. I’m finished!

“ Okay, Think positive!”, I said under my breath. The script read, my name is Chloe and I just earned the main role in the Hero’s journey movie. I screamed, and leapfrogged up and down. I was… Astonished. I felt so proud of myself!

“Are you serious?”, I asked the director.

“ Yes you deserve it you are really amazing! You start next Monday. Pack up all your stuff because you are going from a small town in Rhode Island to a big city in California... Hollywood.”, barked he
