One warm May afternoon my family was getting ready for the week and our church’s vacation bible school when we heard a knock on the door, little did we know that this knock would change our lives forever. When my mother, Amanda, opened the door a woman, we did not know, was standing on our front porch. I will never forget the words that she said when my mother asked her who she was, she replied “I am Shelby. I live in Stillwater and I am here because this is where the police officer told me Zachery Croney lives. I am pregnant with Zach’s kid and I came to get any information I would need about his childhood that could affect my child.” My mom, then invited Shelby in to our home to sit down and talk to us. After talking for a little while, my mom called my brother, Zach, to come home from fishing that she had something she needed to tell him. Kyler has been to many places around Oklahoma with my parents and I, but my favorite adventure we have been on was going to the Grand Canyon. This past spring break my dad decided he wanted to load up and go see The Grand Canyon. I did not under any circumstances want to take Kyler to The Grand Canyon with us because I thought it would be way too terrible. I was so wrong though. That trip was the best week with my nephew I have ever had. He minded so well, he kept me occupied, he loved all the animals we saw, he told us about how pretty the sunset was there, and I taught him how to swim. Without Kyler on our vacation, I do not think it would have been near as fun for me because I would’ve just had to spend time with my mom and dad instead of building a bond with my nephew. Another trip, that seems like an adventure, he has been on with us is just a trip to Walmart. In Walmart he always thinks he has to have a new toy and tell everyone we pass
