The last couple of years in my life haven’t been quite easy. In 2010 I gave birth to my wonderful daughter Nina Miller. At the age of 17 I went from an all-conference all state champion to a teen mom. I thought my future had no hope. Everyone would always tell me how I wasn’t going to be able to run track, which was something I loved to do. They also told me I wasn’t going to be able to go to college. Another statistic I was faced with was not staying in a relationship with my high school sweetheart also my child’s father. I am writing this paper to prove everyone who ever doubted me wrong and thank them for the motivation. I am currently biology major in one of the finest institutes in St. Louis Missouri. Missouri Baptist University has accepted me due to my hard work carried out at University City after having my child, and going on to Harris Stowe State University. Missouri Baptist also provided me with a track scholarship. Words cannot explain how happy I am for this opportunity. I can say is that I earned this and I am working hard to keep it. On top of all this I am working part time to provide for my daughter. I must say going to class, practice, and work wears me out but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am going to graduate from MBU one day and become a veterinarian. I hope to open up my own business one day. This is a dream I long for along with going to the Olympics.
