The National Honors Society is a prestigious organization, and I would be honored to be a member. Not anybody can become a member, so throughout this essay, I will present my argument on why I would be a great addition. I am a diligent worker and a natural leader, and I would love to work with the NHS to better myself as well as my community. Scholarship: I have always been in advanced classes growing up, and when offered AP courses, I couldn't say yes fast enough. However, this isn't just because it looks good for college, but because I strive to push and better myself by obtaining as much knowledge as possible. By doing so, I hope to help others less fortunate than I am. Therefore, I have participated in something called Faith in Action with my Church, where we go around the community and help others by cleaning, making meals, etc. My family and I have also been on two mission trips, one to Chile and the other to Peru, through the Church to help spread God's Word. I saw how many less fortunate people lived in other countries. Furthermore, I realized that I want to continue to help those in need. Leadership: Extracurricular activities are a big part of what I do outside of school. For example, throughout my school career, I did, 3 years of piano lessons, Boy Scouts, multiple 4-H events, and Science Olympiad. By doing so, I developed teamwork and leadership skills that will assist me in my future endeavors. I still participate in two sports, soccer and baseball, and while doing so I try to be a positive role model, not only for my peers but for the younger kids as well.
