I frequently watch commentary Youtube videos (e.g. Johnny Harris to keep myself updated on global affairs and train my critical thinking skills. The videos helped me develop a greater understanding of the world, while the comment section trained my mind to quickly and accurately recognise nuances and assumptions in arguments. Sometimes, I chimed in my thoughts on issues I am passionate about and engaged in civil discourse to express my views. I realised that I learn best through imitation, so I recorded myself and compared my recordings with singers. There was always a minimal difference in pitch at certain words that ruined the entire melody. Knowing this, I adjusted the pitch whenever a segment sounded off while singing and eventually subconsciously grasped “pitch” after a few months. Now I start the whole process again, learning how singers give songs a personal touch.

It is the freedom to think and express myself. Freedom of thoughts has allowed me to excel at my studies, through personalised approaches and methods. Freedom of expression has allowed me to discover and understand myself in great depth. The combination of both gives me the belief that I am in control of my destiny and sets me on a mission to help others see the uses of (without abusing) their freedom.
