Within photography math is used far more than people would think. In course unit one, we specifically focused on unit of measurement and order of operations, and photography involves many uses of measurement. Different lenses have a certain depth, or length, of focus and ability to zoom in and out. Understanding, and having the ability to convert, measurement of meters to feet and vice versa allows the photographer to have a better understanding of the depth of field they will need. This needs to be calculated in combination with the aperture, shutter and ISO. These measurements need to work together in perfect harmony to achieve the best photograph possible. Understanding consumer math is critical, for example what loans and interest can do to someone's credit score and financial stability. The last course unit I would like to focus on is the statistic portion with regards to learning how to properly find the mean, median, mode, average, range, standard deviation etc. For me uses would include finding studio space, dark room space, apartments, equipment, and even staff utilization comes into play. Learning how to use excel to complete tasks that might be more difficult on a calculator. In our day to day professional lives, calculators will not always be around, while we should all have a computer at our desks, with that having excel, or a similar format to use we will be able to easily compute equations and statistics, to further our understanding and
