Below is the project to upgrade and reorganize the IT infrastructure across the company that will address the company’s future technology needs identified in B.
The first aspect of the IT infrastructure that must be in place to support growth strategy of the company is payroll system upgrade. According to the gap analysis the current payroll system does not have capacity to handle more than 100 users, so with the company looking to double in size over next four years, we have to upgrade the payroll system. The recommendation would be to use Enterprise Resource planning (ERP) software. The ERP that I recommend is using Microsoft Dynamics GP with Human resources and payroll. Microsoft dynamics GP is a complete ERP solution for small and medium-sized …show more content…
• The recommended software is Microsoft Windows server 2012 datacenter edition operating system, Microsoft dynamics GP 2016 and Microsoft SQL server 2014 enterprise edition.
• The recommended systems support would be a ERP system specialist for testing, implementation and deployment and a network administrator for server networking, firewall, anti-virus and login credentials. The estimated cost of the system is $100,000.
• The emerging technology for later implementation into the proposed system is cloud based Microsoft dynamics GP. The second aspect of the IT infrastructure that must be in place to support growth strategy of the company is to email system upgrade. According to the gap analysis there is a need to upgrade email server as the current capacity is suitable for 100 users. With the company size doubling in four years, there will be more email traffic and need for additional storage. The recommendation would be to upgrade to Microsoft exchange server 2013 with 200 user licenses. The storage space to be increased three times the current capacity.
