Chloe Gross English II Career Paper 8 March 2024 Nurse Practitioner The career I choose is a Nurse Practitioner. I've been interested in this career for some time now, ever since I got into middle school and really learned about jobs. My mom being in the medical field really spiked my interest in helping others. I want to have a job in the medical field because I love watching Grey's Anatomy and how they help others and change peoples lives. I feel like I would be a good fit for this job because I am really quick at memorizing and I'm really good at hands-on material. Nurse Practitioners have many skills and abilities. I feel like this specialty can be very challenging at times with writing and keeping track of patient records. I feel like doing this will benefit others. The career of a Nurse Practitioner includes many attractive features. Nurse practitioners have a high level of social interaction. They constantly talk to patients, doctors, nurses, and other medical staff. These nurses always look inside and they must be very exact and accurate when performing the job. Finally, these nurses generally work a set schedule (“Careers’). Features like this are exactly what I am looking for in a career. I like the idea of having a set schedule and working with others. I also like the idea of having to be put to a high standard in taking care of patients and others that are around me. The career of a Nurse Practitioner also includes some negative features. Some negative features include a lengthy education path. Another negative feature is a lot of stress. Nurse Practitioners also have a ton of legal responsibilities on them if a patient passes. Finally, the last negative is the debt and scope of practice (“Explore Careers”). Features like this are a huge responsibility to take
