Many people see nurses everyday when they go to hospitals or even doctors offices. In hospitals, nurses run the place. Nurses are the first people to see the patient at the hospital. They also assess patients throughout their stay. In order to pursue a nursing career, one must first understand the education/training, advancements/salary, and benefits/hazards. First, to become a nurse, a person must have a degree in nursing. In order to become a nurse one must sign up for the Board of Nursing and earn any nursing degree, after a person is signed up for the Board of Nursing they can take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses to become a nurse ( How to Become a Registered Nurse (RN) ). To officially become a nurse it could take 16-36 months to accomplish this degree, this is …show more content…
Bureau of Labor Statistics says that the median salary is $73,300 per year for registered nurses (“What Degree Do You Need to Become a Registered Nurse (RN)?”). There are many different advancements in being a Nurse Practitioner. In order to become a nurse practitioner, one must earn their masters degree and pass a test to become a nurse practitioner (“Nurse Hierarchy | What Are the Levels of Nursing?”). The highest level of nursing is Doctor of Nursing Practice. Depending on the school, there are certain criteria a person must have to get into a DNP program (“Nurse Hierarchy | What Are the Levels of Nursing?”). Lastly, there are many benefits when it comes to nursing, but there are also very many hazards nurses have to deal with. Nursing is a very secure job, nurses can get a job in any hospital and they are always on demand. Nurses have adjustable days they can work and how many hours they can work (Morris). In the nursing field, nurses can feel a great deal of achievement, they help people everyday and can make them feel better about themselves.
