I see you not only as a great man that accomplished near impossible feats (43.18s 400m), but also as a man that has more to give and teach. I write to you as a fellow runner that is on my High Schools 4x400m and I am interested in your history and how you managed to overcome impossible obstacles. What I would like to understand, and maybe with your help, is how you were inspired and/or what event(s) led to such a drive and determination to defy the possibilities and become such a great athlete. I wish to follow in the footsteps of such a good-hearted, driven person to help accomplish my own obstacles of making it to state with my fellow teammates. I watched you run the world record 400m, 200m, and 4x400m, and there was not one moment where
