Paul In Tangerine

Have you ever had to move away and leave everyone that you like behind? Well if you have, the character Paul in the book Tangerine has experienced that. Although, if you haven’t experienced that, this story is a good way of exaggerating what will and can happen. This story is about a boy named Paul who has to move all the way from Houston to Tangerine. He struggles with his brother and he feels like he finds sanctuary in Tangerine, but he soon learns that his brother too, is gaining strength and confidence along the way with Paul. When Paul first moves to Tangerine, he is curious and skeptical of the wonders that beholds him, but his confidence builds and he starts learning more and more. This proves that he starts gaining confidence and he starts feeling comfortable in his position at Tangerine, even if it’s not the best position to be in. He also starts to feel more focused in the games and starts to become more comfortable and encouraged to play soccer. He also starts to become more aware of his friends and how they act, and he starts acting like them and he adjusts himself to what they are like. Paul seems to be having a nice time while also gaining the confidence to one day stand up to his older brother and show his parents what he is really like, whether they like it or not. I would think that Erik also becomes more comfortable as well . Although this may be true, he isn’t getting as much friends like Paul is since he doesn’t seem to be fitting in. In conclusion, Paul is being kind towards Tangerine, and it looks like Tangerine is starting to reward him for being that way. Yet Erik is tough, Paul seems to be tougher in his current state and he also seems to be more confident in himself and others around him such as his family. Paul learns in Tangerine what was going to happen to him sooner or later, and as it hits him, he starts to fight back against all of it with helping hands from his friends. In the real world, many people experience moving at least once and it is most definitely hard and Paul proves
