Personal Narrative: My Growth As A Writer

Ever since I learned the alphabet and how to write, I have had an interest in the writing process, creating content, and researching topics to argue about. My first memory of writing, I argued why Michael Jordan was the best basketball player of all time. As I wrote my fifth grade essay, I used credible information from the basketball encyclopedia my mother had bought me. Since my first writing memory was something I was passionate about, being in a writing class with business as the topic was refreshing. Growing my passion and knowledge of business and economics, the ability to explore interesting topics reminded me of my earliest memories. Although my prior knowledge from high school and 101 played a role in every unit we have done, my development as a researcher and an arguer of opposing viewpoints has been valuable to my growth as a writer. Throughout my high school and writing 101 curriculums, I feel like I have gained knowledge of every aspect of the writing process. Although I have improvements to build upon with analysis and evaluation, I feel like I am ending the semester as a better writer than I originated. If I could change one characteristic from the semester, I would have liked a better academic atmosphere. Many times throughout the course I felt that you were not getting the respect deserved. Even though this was not your fault, I felt like I did not achieve growth potential. My drive to become a better writer was not shared with my classmates as it was evident during the peer reviews. Throughout the unit reflections, I consistently shared my frustration with the lack of insight I received from my peers. Although I did not reach potential growth, this class gave me insight on my strengths and weaknesses that I will continue to work on throughout my career as a
