Personal Narrative: My National Honor Society

High school years, a time when teens are transitioning to become a young adult -- juggling schoolwork and social life. When I got to high school, it took me a while to set-in and to be involved. After my freshman year, I came to realize that there's much more to high school than just taking rigorous courses that prepare you for college. It is a time to be involved in the many clubs and to make positive changes in your community. The one activity that I am most proud to be a part of is our school's National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is the embodiment of a scholarly organization -- this society acknowledges students that are well-achieved and maintain the highest grades in the school. We perform many community service projects around our city ones including; 5k run volunteering and tutoring & mentoring elementary students. When I first received acceptance into the National Honor Society, I set a goal for myself: to become an officer. As the years passed; I became more involved in the events, I participated in more service projects, and I built a rapport with everyone involved in the organization. From meetings and setting up appointments, to filling out paperwork; the role of VP is very demanding. All of this doesn't even include the rigorous coursework that I have to complete. Although there are many obstacles I face, I have set means to overcome them. I use planners to keep my arrangements in order -- I am a timely person.
