Significance of Point of View: The Point of View is significant because it allows the character of Nick Carraway to appear as invisible and lets Gatsby have the readers whole attention.

Hypothetical Different Point of View: If this story was written in Gatsby’s Point of View the entire story would be different. We would get to read all of Gatsby’s thoughts and understand his true feelings about what happened with Daisy and Tom. Since F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby in first person peripheral we are able to understand some of what the characters are feeling but not to the extent that writing in third person omniscient would provide.
