Has someone offered to take some work off your plate “just because”? Perhaps you have been given free food with your coffee? Now, just imagine if you looked differently, would people still treat you the same? If these things have happened to you, you might have something known as “pretty privilege”. Pretty privilege is the idea that people who are viewed as more attractive or “prettier” than others receive more opportunities, attention, and rewards. Pretty privilege has really halted our growth as a society; death rates of young people have been increasing and there have been signs of over consumption of products in an attempt to be pretty.
