BEng(Hons) Industrial Electronics and Control
This coursework is based upon a case study on which you will be asked to answer four questions, three of which relate to project management within the organisation and one to scheduling work.
Coursework Specification and Corresponding Marks
The coursework is detailed below beginning on page 4.
Part A is worth 75 % of your total mark and has a limit of 1500 words. The questions ask you to look at the relationship between two departments, Marketing and Engineering, and how this affects the company and their management of projects. When developing your answer, think about how you would introduce good structured project management to bring about positive changes in the company? How could the company formulate, plan, organise, and control projects given the situation?
If applicable, please reference your work using the Harvard referencing system.
Part B is worth 25% and requires you to create a Gantt chart and Network diagram for the company. Two neatly laid out diagrams should be presented. You are encouraged to use Microsoft Project 2007 or above
(available on the PCs in the computer lab on the 5th floor of the teaching building). You can export your diagrams by printing as a “document image” or using the print screen function. This way you can insert them into a word document. Label your diagrams. The rest of the questions are to be answered in writing.
• Your submission should not exceed the word limit. Include a cover sheet with the module code, the title of the work, your name, your student number, and the date. You may print your work double sided if you wish.
• Submit one printed copy at the Student Support Zone. Remember to ask for a receipt.
