As mentioned above some Americans have little regard for the value of others. A perfect example of this is the epidemic of mass shootings. “When it comes to gun massacres, the United States is tragically exceptional: There are more public mass shootings in the United States than in any other country in the world, according to a new study” (U.S. leads the world in mass shootings, para. 3). While America makes up a small portion of the world’s total population, it holds a large percentage of the world’s mass shootings. People have the right to be able to go to school and work without fearing for their lives. However, this is where most mass shootings occur. Technology is a big party of the every day American life. Most people in the U.S. see or use technology daily. As technology has its pros, it has many cons. It has opened up many opportunities for error. Over the years social media has become more and more popular as the use of technology has become more popular. As a country, we depend on social media way too much. Most of the things we read on Facebook and Twitter are false accusations. Technology also allows people to be passive aggressive with one another and say hurtful things on the internet for everyone to see. People do things for attention (BINE, 2013, pg. 1). People feed off of attention and are willing to post or say nearly anything to get it. Many people will even lie just to get attention. The sad thing is people fall for it because that’s what we see everyday. Not only does technology cause problems over social media, but it also causes the problem of being hacked. Technology is not as secure as a person may think. People get to0 comfortable with technology and don't think about the possibility of someone hacking into their account and gaining their personal information. In law the failure to secure client data is being examined (TROUT, 2015). It happens more than people actually realize. It is as easy as clicking on a link on Facebook that we think is interesting, but it is a way in for someone who is hacking computers. Nearly 30 percent of U.S. adults say one of their social media accounts has been hacked (Bremmer, 2015). Terrorist often hack computer systems. They try to hack the government and military systems to get information about this country. Millions of secret documents are held in computers concerning this country and the thought of someone being able to gain possession of those documents is frightening.
