“Next on the news more protests erupt through Chicago near the University of Loyola,” is something you would hear on your local news channel. Protests are held for a person who was killed for the wrong reason or for standing up for what is right. What can spark a tiny flare can come back and become a fire that needs to be put out. As citizens we want what's right but when the government thinks protesting for what’s right is a threat, they want to shut them down. The riots and protest become more and more violent all because we want change. The world today and the world in the past haven’t changed and the same problems arise. “Demonstrators shouted "black lives matter" and "hands up; don't shoot" while cursing at officers, with bicycles blocking intersections. As the protesters approached the Omni hotel, officers in riot gear lined up outside arm in arm and a few marchers threw bottles and clods of dirt.” ("Disturbing videos"). Things became violent and there were videos of a beaten up white man being dragged along the road. Not only that, but people were being arrested and a person was shot. With a total of 44 arrests and 1 person shot people were still angered. This situation is very similar to Lord of the Flies. Roger and his own tribe had a feast. So he decided to invite Ralph and Piggy to the feast. Now realize that Simon wasn’t at this feast. It was dark and they all heard about “the Beast”. The so called “Beast” was just a dead soldier. The kids thought of the “Beast” as something to fear so they have never really talked about it. Roger told everyone to start chanting and dancing until Simon came along and the kids mistook him as the “Beast”. They started to hit him and Simon screamed for help and wanted to them to let go of him. Simon wanted to inform them what the real Beast was. Roger and the kids eventually killed
