The Crucible Religion is a big factor in everyday live for many, especially for the Puritan people. The Crucible, a story about the Salem witch trials, is a story about fear,lies, and religion. In Salem, at the time of the witch trials, people accused others because of their beliefs and ways of living, still to this day people are being accused for the sames reasons. Today people in America are being shamed for being muslim and “fat”. In America there are people hating others based on the religious beliefs. In America there is this stigmation that all girls have to be skinny to be beautiful. Girls are being treated badly for the way that they look, and it's getting much worse with social media. Kelsey Hibberd says "No-one seemed to notice at primary school, but then in Year 7 everyone started pointing at me, noticing things, making me think I was ugly and not special.". That's what people are doing today, making people who are “fat” feel like they're not worthy. They look at everyone thinking that you are going to hell, for simple things such as listening to modern music. “Look how gross they look, my mother would say to me. Don't they just look worldly? Aren't you glad we don't do that? Yes, I would respond obediently. Secretly I admired the dangly earrings and pretty painted nails of those unbeliever.”. Just like in the crucible they think everyone is “ witches” for not being like them, for not doing exactly as they do. John proctor says“Can you speak one minute without we land in Hell again? I am sick of Hell”. John is sick of people thinking that any little thing you do is going to send you to hell, he believe that god isn't that judgemental. People in this world are cruel and hate people for things they cannot
