Progressive reform Era was a period of time where widespread activism and reform was spread throughout the United States This occurred between 1890’s and the 1920’s. This Era was focused on reducing and eliminating corruption in the governments cause by urbans, immigrants & industrilizations. I chose to explore the life of Robert La Follette as he was part of this Era he was known as a progressive politician that took a stand for the American Republic he represented Wisconsin in both congress as well as serving for the Governor of Wisconsin. He was very well known for a fierce opponent in the corporate world, as he served as the U.S. House of Representatives. He was also noted for his role in supporting the reform legislation. Robert was all about making waves and making sure that things were properly ran with the most influential and most powerful people that formed the decisions that were to be made on behalf of the American people. He kept that support from where it all started the farmers as well as the labor organizations within also known as the “ Socialist Party.” His efforts and successes ended up physically, and spiritually draining him as would would have done with anyone with that much drive and success. His wife eventually passed away and he also passed away his legacy was not be stopped so his two sons that he had with his wife Belle carried on what he had so strongly and whole heartedly built. Phillip played a prominent role and entered into politics playing a major role in Wisconsin and his son Robert Jr. would then take after his father's seat in the U.S.
