Freak the Mighty(underline) by Rodman Philbrick shows the daily lives of two friends. One named Max who has dyslexia and another named Kevin who has morquio syndrome. One may see these two boys as inferior, but they have strengths that brings them above the rest. The theme of Freak the Mighty(underline) is that you shouldn't just people just based on their visual appearance.

In the novel, we can discern that Kevin despite having morquio syndrome is intelligent, if not more intelligent than people today. One can notice that Kevin knows a great deal about chemical elements: "'Magnesium!' he shouts as the white sparkles glitter down over the pond. 'Potassium chlorate!' as the shells go womp-womp-womp and everybody goes oooooooh. 'Potassium nitrate!
