Obviously we know that roman engineering and architecture was the roman legacy with the most influential punch on today's society. But did you know that some people don't know this? It's insane. People say "Rome fell but its legacy lived on" I believe this meant even after the destruction of the empire people did not forget what Rome had bestowed upon them, a glorious city full of wonders and excitement. Also a glorious way of engineering used by people around the world for centuries.There are many roman legacies there is art, writing and language, and law, but most importantly architecture and engineering. Architecture and engineering was important because of hydraulic culture, extended arch and barreled vault, and roads. This was why Rome is still known today. Most of the ancient buildings are still in Rome and parts of the ancient Roman Empire such as the coliseum and pantheon are still here after a thousand years! …show more content…
They Covered almost 50,000 miles. 50,000 miles! Roads were crowned this meant that they were higher in the middle so that water could be taken off the roads. Often 6 feet thick to keep the road durable for 100 years. 100 years that's longer than most people live now compared to back then! (World history in context paragraph 10) Roads are used to help people and thus without them the world would be lost and wouldn't get from A to B sometimes at all or even really quickly. In today's society roads are everywhere if you need to get home, to work, to the hospital, etc. roads get you to everywhere you need to go safely (most of the time) and
