A dominant topic of current political conversations in the United States is whether gay men should be allowed to adopt children. There are those who debate with the concept of gay men adopting children because it will not be a traditional family, while others believe that they should be allowed to do so. Allowing gay men to adopt children is a gateway to decrease the amount of children who are in foster care and to reduce the percentage of children staying in welfare communities.
Gay couples are aware in helping children out who are in need of a loving home. The author Crystal Lombardo states that, “It is also considered as the best alternative for the foster-care system that leaves a child wanting to have the same family or attention given by their foster parents while temporarily staying with them.” Gay parenting is a way to show children equally love as a traditional family who have heterosexuals as parents. This study shows that the kids raised by gay men have succeeded in being confident. Furthermore, children will experience a home where they will not have to suffer gender roles but be more of an amiable environment.
Gay couples are prime examples of expected parents who are willing to wait a long process to adopt a child. Which shows a committed person who is in fact is choosing to be a parent. According to Stephanie gay parents teach “these kids may have the advantage of open-mindedness, tolerance and role models for equitable relationships, Not only that, but gays likely to provide homes for difficult-to-place children in the foster system”. Moreover, both parties benefit from this and are most likely to have a successful happy future
