Another issue that is highly controversial about vaccines is, Should vaccines be mandatory? While medicine and food, among other things, do not fit everyone, many people believe that all vaccines work for everyone. This however is not true, and is one of the reasons vaccines should not be mandatory. It is a basic human right to choose whether someone wants a synthetic simulation injected into themselves or their children. Therefore, if vaccines are mandatory it is taking away a basic human right. Vaccines sometimes also go against religious beliefs, and because America is a free country where anyone can practice any religion, it would be undermining the First Amendment to make vaccines mandatory. This year, the flu strand is H3N2, with which the flu vaccine tends to underperform. That is true this year, as the flu vaccine efficiency rate is only 10% effective. Another very important vaccine is the HPV vaccine (also known as the Gardasil vaccine). HPV stands for Human Papillomavirus, a virus that can turn into cervical cancer if not treated properly. HPV is a sextually transmitted disease, and there are around one hundred different strands of it. The HPV vaccine protects against only 2-3 strands of HPV. There was a boy named Colton, who got the HPV vaccine. Then he got a second round. A few weeks after that, his neck started to hurt. A few days after that, he started having paralysis in his neck and it spread to his right arm. He was admitted to a hospital and was there for 88 days. Eventually, he started to recover but he lived with his neck and right arm totally paralyzed and had to have a breathing tube with him every second of every day. Sadly, a few months ago he committed suicide because it wasn't worth to live. This is how much damage the HPV vaccine has done. This is not the only story. Many, many other children, girls in particular, have had very rare, only seen once or twice before, reactions to the HPV vaccine.
