Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is a 14th century poem by an unknown author. Sir Gawain is thought to be a relative and follower of the legendary King Arthur. (Encyclopædia Britannica) As Troy no longer existed, new kingdoms were formed. Among them was Britain. Britain was built by rich, noble and brave men, many of whom fought for it. Among Britain's great kings Arthur was the greatest with astonishing adventures according to the tails the author had heard. Arthur held a Christmas diner in Camelot by his Round Table and was celebrated for fifteen days. There were feasts and dancing and beautiful women.
