The central tenet of Christianity is the belief in Jesus as the Son of God and savior of humanity. Christianity teaches that there is only one God, and in the beginning, this God spoke the entire universe into existence. On earth, God created two people, a man, and a woman, named Adam and Eve, they are to tend the garden in which they live, and are free to eat from any tree except the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. Sometimes later Eve is tempted by Satan and eats from this tree. Then Adam eats from it as well. It’s at this point they become aware and “understand good and evil” evidenced by a new shame of their nakedness. Disobeying God results in them being expelled from the Garden and Suffering the effect of death. Many generations after Adam, God chooses a man named Abraham to make into a great nation. A nation that will one day birth a Messiah to release mankind from the bondage of sin and death. Christian believes Jesus is the promised Messiah. Islam is centered around the belief in one God, Allah (the same God revered by Jews and Christians), and Muhammad, is God’s final prophet. As Islam’s fundamental statement of faith says, “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger.” Muslims respectfully call Jews and Christians “the people of the book.”) Muslims say that these prophets received revelations from God that became scripture, Allah’s final word to humankind preserved in the Muslim holy scriptures, the Quran (or Koran). I really like learning about the story of Prophet Muhammad in class, I felt like even though I am a Muslim coming to the United State at a young age, I feel as though I don’t even know enough about my own religion, compare to my cousins and friends who goes to the Madarasa everyday and learn about all the history and translation of what the Quran means. The knowledge I have learned about Islam is through my
