Before the prophet Muhammad, Arab merchants traded with the west coast of India. In the seventh century, the merchants began to convert to Islam.The religion started to spread through out India in the year 629 with the building of the first Mosque. The Indian subcontinent ( including Pakistan) soon became one of the largest Islamic populations in the world. The spread of Islam in India was through relocation diffusion by immigration of the Arab merchants and warfare. This had a social and political impact on India and Pakistan.
In the early 600’s the Arabs started to trade spices, gold, and African goods with the west coast of India and Mecca(origin of Islam). As the Arabs began to convert to Islam the west coast of India followed suit. The
