Section 2 The Children Act 1989 was introduced for prevention of cruelty to children. According to this law, local authorities were charged to investigate if they see any child suspected of suffering from any kind of abuse (Section 47). Local authorities were also demanded to serve children in need (Section 17). The United Kingdom doesn’t have the strict law against child abuse, but Children Act 2004 (section 58) protects children from violence and any abuse and limits the defense of responsible punishment to people with charges against abusing children. After the death of eight-year-old Victoria Climbie in 2000, who was tortured and murdered by her guardian, which formed the policy Every Child Matters, that led to Children Act 2004 to serve and protect children from child abuse aim of this policy to improve child life. According to Outcome for Children and Young People, the goal of Every Child Matters is to make sure every child is healthy, safe, and is able to achieve economic well-being. Since, violence against children is a universal problem. Investing in protecting children from violence, exploitation, and abuse must be a global priority. More must be done to raise awareness of violence and encourage people to speak out when they see or suspect child abuse and to strengthen social welfare system and services that protect children form any harm. There are programs like the Disability Living Allowance, which helps children with special needs by providing care, as needed (Kasparova, 2007). Children who are under age sixteen can apply for this program. The children who have difficulties with mobility are eligible for this program. Individuals who qualify for this allowance are eligible to receive help looking after also will receive help with washing, eating and help according to their communication needs.
