There are two houses in Federal Parliament: The House of Representatives and the Senate. The House of Representative is known as the lower house. The House can sit for up to three years before a new election is required for all members.
The role of House of Representatives can be thought or known as the ‘house of action’. It has five major roles to make laws, to establish the government of the country, to oversee the management of the government, to represent the voters and to control government spending.
