Production is an integral part of the song-making process that has been used for all genres of music for decades. Without production, many songs would not sound as great as a final product that has been refined for optimal musical pleasure. Many productions are made possible through equipment made specifically for the sake of production in addition to software. Machines such as the Akai MPC 2000XL and the Linn Drum that were used in the past put out successful songs for their time, and some musicians had even used the MPC well after its initial release. Drum Machines have also made my experience with production a lot easier and enjoyable. Although it has been stated multiple times with different connotations, there is no physical easy button in regards to production, but in tandem with helpful machines, software and creative production can be exceptional for artist and for listeners when they receive the aftermath of all the hard work put into an album and its songs. …show more content…
Included in successful music production in some cases actually happens to be songwriting which I have seen very prominently in the hip-hop genre as many rappers write and produce simultaneously, artists outside of hip-hop also produce their songs and write like Taylor Swift. When it comes to the instrumental part of producing, mastering is incredibly helpful in making sure a song sounds good on an instrumental level and lyrical in terms of sounds or the way a voice sounds in specific segments of songs. In addition, lowering and heightening of certain sounds throughout the song create an effect of progression within songs such as fading in and out of instruments used, manipulating the pitch of instruments, even equalizing the sound of instruments as to not make any sound completely overpowering or ugly overall like with
