What I found most interesting about “The Strenuous Life”, written by Theodore Roosevelt, is that the speech was based upon his own personal experiences. He states in the speech that for an individual to be a success they have to put great effort into their work and not be lazy. However, those who do not embrace the strenuous life, to him, did not live meaningful lives. I find all of this interesting because growing up he was in poor physical condition as a result of being sickly, having asthmatic attracts, and having trouble sleeping properly in bed. He worked hard as an adult on his physical condition by doing various exercise such as boxing, tennis, hiking etc. to get him into better health. In a weird way that is somewhat related to how
