I am interested in pursuing a career in being a travel nursing. In the occupation of a travel nurse, you generally travel to a certain destination for a thirteen week period. You have the opportunity to travel all around the country depending on where you are needed at the time. You get the choice in where you go and how long you would like to stay, between 13-26 weeks, so you are not stuck at the same job every day, and you get different experiences.
To become a travel nurse you must have at the very least, an RN degree. To get an RN, it would take between two and four years of school depending on your program. There is also a BSN degree, which is just a little

Travel nurses are generally guaranteed a certain amount of hours each week, depending on the hospital you sign with the amount varies, which include overtime as well. Travel nursing is not necessarily a high pressured job, but being an RN, you generally need to know how to deal with high stress situations, such as a car accident or emergency. When you are a travel nurse, you are generally placed in the Critical Care Unit or the Emergency Department. One advantage of working as a travel nurse would be being able to travel and do what you love. It would be so awesome to not have the same job everyday, and being able to have a fresh start if needed every few weeks or months. Another advantage is experiencing different areas of the country and world. One disadvantage to being a travel nurse would be having to leave your family behind whenever you left for a new job, or even having to leave friends behind, that you had made at a certain work place, after your time is up. After researching this career, I believe being a travel nurse would be awesome, and is a career that I will definitely look into after I
