Analysis: Look at the use of commas, dashes, and semicolons. The uses of pauses added imagery and suspense. Capote seems to be scared, but at the same time praising him of how easy it is for him to kill someone. It seems like he admires the way his mind works.
“Good. But why written in three styles of script?” To which Nancy had replied: “Because I’m not grown-up enough to be one person with one kind of signature.”) (57).
Analysis: This shows that Nancy shows ambition as well as knowledge that she wants to understand “herself” more as a person. She uses figurative language to hide behind a deeper meaning of understanding who she is wanted to grow to be.
