The film V for Vendetta was directed by James McTeigue and released in 2005. It was based on the 1988 DC Comics limited series, V for Vendetta, by Alan Moore and David Lloyd. The film is about a future where a neo-fascist government has taken control of the United Kingdom. The character who plays ‘V’, Hugo Weaving, is a freedom fighter who tries to start a revolution. His way of starting a revolution is through terrorist acts. Alongside him is Evey, played by Natalie Portman, and a detective, Stephen Rea, who tries to stop V.

Currently, people are protesting for their beliefs and what they feel is right. They are putting action behind the words and standing up for a cause like V. However, not all are doing to drastic measures like violence, but some are pushing the limit to wear eventually it will take violence. Violence seems to only be the answer when one wants to be heard but instead is ignored, like V. Organized civil disobedience is peaceful and might start a positive revolution for the rights of individuals.
For example, many people are protesting against police brutality against African-Americans in America. This recurring issue has sparked a movement called the Black Lives Matter Movement which, advocates that African-American lives matter in addition to other races that are not scrutinized and discriminated against. Recently, a riot occurred in one of the northern states in the U.S where violence against the police sparked. Instantly, America roared in outrage against this and against started a movement called “Pray For Police.” This in turn boosted the voice of those pro-Black Live Matter Movement, and those pro-Pray for Police. Soon, the government will have to take matters into its own hands as violence has already started, and more people are in disagreement with how society is
