“Every generation needs a new revolution,” was said by Thomas Jefferson. What he had said had happened in 1812, the revolution of the United States again.
The issue at hand is that the War of 1812 is being questioned about whether it should stay in the United State’s history books or stored away. The War if 1812 was what had help build up the foundation of how the U.S. is today. Even before 1812 the British and French were at war, then Britain started impressment on U.S. sailors which caused problems. One thing led to another, the U.S. then got involved. The president at the time, James Madison, declared war and that war has led us here. That war let us keep our freedom and made the National Anthem.
I do strongly believe that we should keep the War of 1812 in the United State’s history books because the war like the start of a new beginning, what we have now. The following will have my reasoning of why the War of 1812 should stay in the U.S. history books.

It was the first time Washington burned to the ground, the British had done it in retaliation. The way the people had reacted because of this act, it had helped the uprising of the war throughout the United States. Most of the people reacted terrified and objected the war, but more thought about it and realized we could lose the U.S. to Britain.
